Tom Felton’s first voyage to Mauritius

Tom Felton’s first voyage to Mauritius

Tom Felton, young talented actor, an avid musician and keen sportsman was at both Constance Belle Mare Plage and Constance Prince Maurice a few days ago on his very first voyage to Mauritius. Tom who was working in South Africa got “lured by our golf courses”, as he said it;
and was among us on a 4days break.

The UK born actor who has been acting since the age of eight is extremely charming and sweet. Known for his superb acting in Anna and the King (1999) with Jodie Foster, the Harry Potter saga which started in 2001, Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), The Apparition (2012), From the Rough (2013) and many more; Tom is simply a fine and jovial person.

Here's the full story:

How come you chose Constance Belle Mare Plage?
“I had five days off from my job in Cape Town and found in my previous work that one of my other crew members had flown to Mauritius. I found out it was a short flight, I did some research and got in touch.
The golf course though was the 1st thing that lured me towards the Constance properties, which I played at. The Links and Legends, both unique are courses I’ve never played at. They didn’t disappoint at all."

Which one is your favourite?
“I can’t say. I would probably play at the Links because it’s a bit wider and hillier, but it’s not easy. I played with Alex, one of the Pros, he gave me few lessons, which was a bit slow to start with but I managed to get there in the end.

So, 1st thing the golf then upon seeing the lovely properties that you guys have, that was about it!”

How did you find the atmosphere and hotel?
“Delightful! There’s a wonderful balance between being top of the range luxury, exclusive and beautiful and very relaxed and casual. It is very comforting to be around. I’ve ever been to anywhere else in the world like this - the balance of a 5-star property but at the same time, laid-back and friendly.”

The hotel?
"The size of it! The sheer scale and the size of the property. Two kilometres of beach, it is an endless private beach. (totally wowed) The water is incredibly warm and beautifully blue.  A selection of pools. It goes from 1 thing to the next, the room, the design of the entire place; everything flows brilliantly together. You don’t feel you are in a massive resort; you feel quite intimate.”

Which Villa did you stay in and what was your favourite thing in the villa?
“The Villa masters were incredibly friendly and lovely to have. I’ve never had that experience in my life. That was nice. The pool, the entire outdoor was great, having lunch on the little pool verandah was spectacular…

Wow, the outdoor bath was a real treat!  I remember when I was there, I looked up and said -this is not an average view from a bathtub; stars, palm tree, atmosphere, it is unique.”

Your thoughts on the food & drinks at the hotel?
“Food and drinks were superb again. I felt that I was eating at five different restaurants/hotels every night.
The selection was great; the attention to detail, the meal at Blue Penny Cellar though, was one of the best dining experience of my life. I’ve never really been on an adventure quite like this where food is matched with wine and that setting in that cellar, it was superb! A tour from Sanat; (Head Sommelier at Constance Belle Mare Plage’s Blue Penny Cellar) he was incredibly enthusiastic, again very friendly, down to earth, and sweet. Sometimes a place like this, you can feel intimidated, but he was incredibly delightful, made the whole experience enjoyable.”

What are your thoughts on Constance Prince Maurice?
“The walk down the floating restaurant, Le Barachois is lovely – simply out of this world!” (said with delight)

We have 8 hotels in the Indian Ocean. Which one will be on your holiday list?
“The other 6! (all smiles) Madagascar first, I would love to spend five days exploring some of Madagascar and five days at the hotel Constance Tsarabanjina. Seychelles, I always wanted to go there and the Maldives as well.”

Tell us more about your music – Any inspiration while you were here?
“I love to make music; music is my main passion in life. I don’t go anywhere without my guitar. I’ve had a few jams here on the beach, it’s nice. I always find places like these very good for songwriting and just for playing. I have one of my shows coming up, in Germany, in August. So, I’m doing few rehearsals, a little bit of fine-tuning. But it’s a passion of mine. It’s not something that I want to turn into an industry. I’m very lucky to obviously act for a living, and I would rather continue to do that and keep my music my hobby, my passion.
I like to share it too, every day I do some IG videos.”

Any Inspiration?
“Plenty! I would say just the rhythm; the pace of life here helps a lot. Every place is like a drum, a beating drum, here it’s got a bit more of jazz to it. It is slow, comfortable. It slows the rhythm of your soul and its good for songwriters.”

Would you recommend Constance Belle Mare Plage & Constance Prince Maurice to your fans and friends?
Absolutely!
Why?
“You’ll be well-looked after, all the staffs here are all beautifully friendly, and the actual properties are stunning. And it’s all about the weather, the people, the food, the golf, and the drinks…Happy days!”

What’s your ConstanceMoment? (a moment at Constance hotel that you will cherish and could not have been lived elsewhere)
“There has been so many, it’s hard to pick one, but I would say the ‘mid-night’ dip!
The stars were out shining so brightly, the trees at night, the lights around…it didn’t look real. I jumped out and swam. The water was so warm!”
