MCB Mauritius Legends Finale: Baker Eyes Triple Win
The MCB Mauritius Legends returns to Constance Belle Mare Plage this December as the Legends Tour season reaches its dramatic conclusion. Former Ryder Cup player and eight-time Legends Tour winner, Peter Baker, arrives as defending champion, aiming for a third consecutive victory on the island after last year’s play-off win over Simon Griffiths.
After a strong 2025 campaign, which included victory at the Costa Navarino Legends Tour Trophy and several top-10 finishes, Baker heads to Mauritius still in contention for another Order of Merit title. He is chasing the current leader, Australia’s Scott Hend, in the season-long standings.
“I’m really looking forward to the remainder of the season and hopefully I can start to make a few more putts as that’s the difference between winning and just doing okay,” said Baker. “If I can play well in the remaining events this season, hopefully I’ll get to Mauritius still in contention for the Order of Merit.”

Baker’s success on the island is no coincidence. Reflecting on his back-to-back wins, he credited the comfort and beauty of Constance Belle Mare Plage for his performance:
“Mauritius is a beautiful island and the people are so welcoming,we love coming back. The resort is first-class, the food is wonderful, and the course is a great test. Any time you win somewhere it gives you extra confidence, so having won the last two years definitely helps. Three in a row would be pretty amazing. I’ll be trying my hardest to play well and feed off the confidence from previous years.”
Joining Baker and Hend in the field are all of the 2025 Legends Tour winners to date, including Simon Griffiths, James Kingston, Keith Horne, Mark Brown, Steve Webster, and Markus Brier, along with reigning Order of Merit champion Adilson Da Silva and former US Open champion Michael Campbell.
“Returning to Mauritius is a highlight of our year and a fitting stage for the finale of the season,” said Phil Harrison, CEO of the Legends Tour. “We’ve been coming to Constance Belle Mare Plage since 2011, and it’s loved by players and families alike. We look forward to another exciting tournament and superb hospitality at Constance Belle Mare Plage.”
Jean-Jacques Vallet, CEO of Constance Hospitality, added: “It is a real privilege to welcome the Legends Tour once again. Our long-standing partnership reflects our shared values: excellence, passion, and the art of creating timeless experiences. We look forward to hosting players and guests on the Legend Golf Course, a stage for world-class competition, and to offering them an unforgettable stay at Constance Belle Mare Plage.”
A course that inspires Legends - The Legend Course
The Legend Course, a par-72 layout designed by Hugh Baiocchi, provides a spectacular backdrop for the event. Nestled in a former hunting reserve and lined with water hazards, the course winds through lush woodland along Mauritius’ breathtaking east coast. Its iconic 17th hole, a dramatic par-3 over a coastal inlet, remains a favourite among players and fans, including Baker.
“I hit a great shot into 17 to make a birdie two, which Simon [Griffiths] also did as well,” recalled Baker from his 2024 victory. “It’s a hole I’ve always struggled with for some reason, but this time I managed to hit a really good one in there to about six feet and holed it, it was probably the best shot I’ve hit there in about 10 years. I then kept it going, hit some great shots into 18 in the play-off, and luckily played my best golf at the end and won it.”
