Inaugural Constance Junior Pro-Am in Mauritius
Constance Belle Mare Plage set the stage for a historic moment in Mauritian golf last week, hosting the island’s first-ever women’s professional tournament. But while the stars of the Ladies European Tour lit up the Legend championship course during the MCB Ladies Classic, another milestone was quietly unfolding alongside it.
The inaugural Constance Junior Pro-Am marked a new chapter in the development of the game, bringing together some of Mauritius’ most promising young golfers to play alongside elite international professionals in a truly unique and inspiring format.
Designed to spotlight the island’s next generation of talent, the initiative offered juniors a rare opportunity to experience the rhythm and intensity of professional competition—walking the fairways, sharing moments, and learning firsthand from some of the best players in the world. More than just an event, it signals a long-term commitment to nurturing local talent and building a lasting legacy for golf in Mauritius.

Among the standout performers was Constance Hospitality-sponsored athlete Elise Tsang Mang Kin, who underlined her rising potential as part of a team that finished fourth in a highly competitive field.
A passionate and disciplined young athlete, Elise discovered golf at just five years old through her father, quickly developing both a deep love for the game and a natural flair. Since then, the sport has become central to her growth, shaping her character and instilling values of patience, resilience and focus, qualities she captures in one word: discipline.
At the Junior Pro-Am, Elise embraced the challenge of playing alongside Swedish Ladies European Tour professional Louise Rydqvist. While the presence of a tour player can be daunting for any amateur, Elise, together with Aklashya Ramsurrun and Mark Guskov, rose to the occasion with confidence and composure.
The trio delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a net score of 11-under (61 points) to secure a share of fourth place.

The tournament was won by Lianna Bailey and her team of Emmah Veerasamy, Alexandre Lai Choo and Nikhil Ramjatun, who posted a remarkable 15-under total (57 points), edging out Thalia Martin’s team by a single stroke and point. Romy Meekers and her team completed the podium in third place.
Elise, who is part of the Mauritian National MCB Elite Team under the Mauritius Golf Federation and is supported by Constance Hospitality, continues to embody the promise of a new generation of golfers on the island. Her dedication, particularly her commitment to early morning practice reflects both her ambition and the values at the heart of the brand’s vision.
With the launch of the Constance Junior Pro-Am, that vision now takes on even greater meaning: creating pathways, inspiring young athletes, and ensuring that the future of Mauritian golf is not only bright but already in motion.
