Donaldson targets glory at MCB Mauritius Legends

Ryder Cup hero Jamie Donaldson will be hoping that a return to the scene of past success helps maintain his impressive start to life on the Legends Tour, as final preparations are made for the 2025 MCB Mauritius Legends at Constance Belle Mare Plage.

Donaldson won an invitational event in Mauritius 13 years ago as he established himself among the elite, a key step on the journey that culminated in holing the winning putt at the 2014 Ryder Cup.
Now a full member of the Legends Tour, he made a statement on his debut by winning the European Masters at La Manga.

He will arrive full of confidence when he tees it up on the Legends Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage from 5–7 December, in what has become the prestigious and traditional climax to the Legends Tour season.

However, he will face fierce competition as he looks to add his name to a distinguished roll of honour that includes former Open champion Tom Lehman, Ryder Cup icon Colin Montgomerie, former Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjørn and ten-time PGA Tour winner David Frost.

Major champion Michael Campbell, along with several other Ryder Cup players, will also be in the field on the Indian Ocean island.
The roster of former European Ryder Cup stars includes Stephen Gallacher, Paul McGinley, the former captain and now one of the game’s most respected commentators, Phil Price, Niclas Fasth, Peter Baker, Joakim Haeggman, Jarmo Sandelin (the 2019 champion), Thomas Levet and Steven Richardson.

Donaldson’s strongest challengers may well come from John Jacobs Trophy leader Scott Hend, the evergreen Baker, and South African Keith Horne – while Sweden’s Sandelin has also shown excellent recent form.

The Alliance Series will also reach its conclusion at Constance Belle Mare Plage, giving amateur golfers the rare chance to play alongside legendary professionals on the fairways and around the resort.

The Legend Course, designed by former Tour professional Hugh Baiocchi and comprehensively renovated over the past four years, will provide an immaculate stage for the finale of the 2025 Legends Tour.
Set within a former hunting reserve and lined with water hazards, it features one of the most iconic holes on the schedule: the par-3 17th, played across a coastal inlet.

Last year, Constance Belle Mare Plage once again delivered a spectacular backdrop for the championship, as Adilson da Silva was crowned the MCB Road to Mauritius champion and Baker successfully defended his MCB Tour Championship title.
