Constance Moofushi through the eyes of Mr & Mrs Ennen

What draws a guest back to the same island, time and again? For the couple behind Time4Moofushi and Time4Maldives, it’s more than just the turquoise waters and white sands, it’s a deep appreciation for a place where every detail feels considered, every interaction genuine.

Their journey with Constance Moofushi began unexpectedly but soon became a meaningful part of their lives. What started as a holiday turned into a passion project: documenting their stays, sharing insights with future travellers, and celebrating the people and philosophy that make the resort stand out.

Here’s Constance Moofushi through the eyes of Anja Kölker-Ennen & Friedhelm Ennen.

How did your journey with Constance Moofushi begin? Could you tell us about your first visit and what drew you to this particular atoll?
“Our journey with Constance Moofushi began after recovering from Covid following our first Maldives trip. While daydreaming on the sofa, we contacted our travel agency with a wish list and Moofushi was among the suggestions. The moment we watched a video of the resort, we knew it was the one. It had everything we were looking for and more.”

What makes Constance Moofushi such a meaningful destination for you? Are there any memories or emotions that you associate most strongly with the island?
“What makes Constance Moofushi so special to us is the way everything comes together. The natural elegance of the resort, its seamless integration with the surroundings, and above all, the warmth of its people. The leadership team around Mevin, Luthi, Sony, Hassan, Madu and others is exceptional: professional, approachable, and always present in the best possible way.

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. The team's dedication, along with inspiring sustainability efforts like Vinita’s coral farming project, makes our connection to the island both personal and profound.”

What inspired you to create the Instagram page @time4moofushi and later the YouTube channel Time4Maldives? Was there a specific moment or idea that sparked this passion project?
“Before @time4moofushi, I had been running a blog on Instagram and Facebook called time4bbq, focused on barbecue and outdoor cooking. So, when Moofushi became our new passion, it felt completely natural to start a new blog dedicated to this very special place, time4moofushi was born almost instantly.

The idea behind Time4Maldives followed shortly after. What truly sparked it was the lack of detailed room tours and in-depth content about the different accommodation types at Constance Moofushi. As a guest, I had often wished for more comprehensive visual insights and so I decided to create them myself.

What we didn’t expect, however, was the incredible response. The way the YouTube channel has grown and how well it has been received is something we never could have anticipated. It’s been a joyful and rewarding journey.”

Your latest video on Moofushi has already garnered quite some views—what do you think your audience likes more? Do you focus on any themes or visuals that seem to connect especially well with viewers?
“From the very beginning, I approached the videos from the perspective of someone planning a trip, what kind of information would I personally want to see? That guided how I structured and edited the content: clear, visual storytelling with a focus on what matters most to future guests.

In the early videos, I experimented with different formats—some with only subtitles and background music, others with voiceover and on-screen text. Over time, I learned that the audience responds best to calm, well-paced videos with concise, informative text and relaxed background music, such as soft piano. This has become the signature style, as seen in the most recent video, Constance Moofushi 2025.

I shoot all footage using an iPhone combined with a gimbal, which ensures smooth and stable shots without the usual shaking. For the first time, the latest video also includes aerial drone footage, adding a new level of visual depth and helping the videos appear even more polished and professional going forward.”

You’ve documented everything from snorkeling to room tours—how do you plan and curate your content? What kind of preparation or research goes into each piece?
“As with the other aspects of my content, I try to film the kind of sequences I would personally want to see as a viewer. Over time, I’ve watched many YouTube videos about the Maldives and taken inspiration from the best elements blending those ideas with my own vision and expectations.

For certain topics, I also do additional research online to provide viewers with more context and real added value. My goal is to create videos that go beyond surface impressions, content that’s not only visually appealing but also informative and helpful.

Ultimately, I want each video to have a distinctive look and feel, something that reflects both the spirit of the destination and the identity of the Time4Maldiveschannel.”

In what ways do you feel your content has supported or inspired bookings at Constance Moofushi? Have people reached out to say they chose Moofushi thanks to your content?
“The Constance Moofushi Fan Page on Facebook continues to grow steadily. Like any community, it thrives on current, engaging content and that, of course, requires time and effort. But the response has been very positive. We often receive messages through various channels from people who tell us that our videos, posts or photos played a role in their decision-making process and in some cases, were even the deciding factor.

It’s incredibly rewarding to know that we’re able to support future guests and perhaps even help them discover what makes Moofushi so special. Just recently, someone commented on one of our platforms that, thanks to the detailed insights we shared, they finally made up their mind and chose Constance Moofushi.”

Can you share a few of your favourite lesser-known highlights of the island—things first-time guests might easily miss? This could be a location, an activity, or even a staff interaction.
“There are definitely a few hidden gems on Moofushi that even returning guests sometimes overlook. One example is the Hidden Jewel: a quiet, beautiful spot on the island that we once featured in a video. We received a comment from a past guest saying, “Where is that? We didn’t see it during our stay!” Quite surprising, isn’t it?

Other experiences that might not be on every guest’s radar include the guided snorkeling tour along the house reef with Vinita, whose knowledge and passion for marine life add so much depth to the experience. The Heart of the House tour is another unique opportunity; it offers rare behind-the-scenes insights into the operations and people who make the island run so smoothly.

And of course, there’s the wine tasting in the lagoon which is a truly special event that combines elegance with the extraordinary natural setting of Moofushi. Each of these moments adds a different layer to the experience and helps make every stay truly unforgettable.

The resort is more than worth it to explore with eyes wide open. Every guest will explore his/her own special highlights.”

Finally, do you have any #MyConstanceMoment? MyConstanceMoment is a memorable moment that’s lived at any Constance Hotels and Resorts and cannot be lived anywhere else.
“We certainly have our own #MyConstanceMoments. They begin with the warm, heartfelt welcome upon arrival, something that instantly sets the tone. Staying in a Senior Water Villa was another special highlight that made us feel truly privileged.

This year, two visits to Alizée stood out as memorable moments, as did the wine tasting with Madu and Dylan, an experience that beautifully combined expertise, atmosphere and personal connection. But what touched us just as deeply were the many small moments that made it clear how much enthusiasm for Time4Moofushi exists even among the staff. That kind of support and recognition means the world to us.

If I had to choose one very personal #MyConstanceMoment, it would be our final evening this year: a dinner on the Milky Way sandbank with Anja, Sarah and Nick. A magical setting, heartfelt conversations, and the perfect sense of closure. I’ll never forget those moments.”
