Celebrating 50 Years with Purpose at Constance Moofushi

Constance Moofushi rose from the turquoise waters of the South Ari Atoll to mark a milestone in a way that truly reflects the heart of Constance Hotels & Resorts, through meaningful action and care for the natural world.
In celebration of the Group’s 50th anniversary, Constance Moofushi took a bold step forward in the conservation of its coral reefs. The resort partnered with Mars Sustainable Solutions (MSS) to restore more than 100 square metres of coral reef and outplant over 1,500 coral fragments using the Mars Assisted Reef Restoration System (MARRS) — a science-based, innovative initiative developed by MSS to revive degraded reefs and promote marine biodiversity.

This collaboration goes beyond conservation; it stands as a symbol of shared stewardship. Together, Moofushi and MSS are weaving life back into the ocean’s tapestry. Under this approach, the resort’s team has been trained to install Reef Stars, sand-coated, steel structures embedded with coral fragments into an interconnected web that helps restore the ecological function of the house reef. These Reef Stars not only bring new hope to Moofushi’s reef but also empower the team to continue expanding restoration efforts in the months to come.
As part of this initiative, 100 Reef Stars were planted, 50 each day over two days, a living tribute to 50 years of heartfelt hospitality and our enduring connection to nature.

Through this project, Constance Moofushi reaffirms its commitment to protecting the ocean, ensuring that the beauty that welcomes today’s guests continues to inspire generations to come.
