50 Years of Constance

Where the heart stays

50 years of Timeless Hospitality

For over half a century, Constance Hotels & Resorts has been more than a destination;
it has been a feeling.

A place where the heart lingers, where memories are born, and where sojourns are etched
for a lifetime and where the heart stays.

A Bright Beginning

In 1975, a dream took root along the shores of Mauritius, one built on vision, passion, and a deep respect for nature’s rhythm.

From ten bungalows at Constance Belle Mare Plage to three hotels, three resorts, two lodges, and one boutique hotel across five breathtaking destinations: Mauritius, Seychelles, Maldives, Rodrigues & Madagascar - we have spent fifty years honouring a simple truth: genuine hospitality begins with the heart.

Harmoniously anchored across the Indian Ocean

From Mauritius and Rodrigues to the Maldives, Seychelles, and Madagascar, each Constance hotel, resort, and lodge tells a story of connection.. Our connection to nature, to culture, and to the human spirit.

It’s a connection that runs deeper than place: woven into the rustle of palms, the rhythm of waves, and the warmth of every smile.

For fifty years, this harmony has shaped who we are, crafting cocoons where authenticity thrives, moments are treasured, and every moment reflects true indian ocean hospitality.

1975 — Constance Belle Mare Plage, Mauritius

Our journey began on one of the most beautiful parts of the East coast of Mauritius. Two kilometres of pure white sand, kissed by turquoise waters and graced with the genuine warmth of Mauritian hospitality. Today, this iconic luxury resort proudly holds Green Globe Platinum Certification, a testament to its long-standing dedication to sustainability and excellence.

1998 — Constance Prince Maurice

An exclusive sanctuary on Mauritius’ northeast coast, where tranquil lagoons and refined culinary experiences mirror the harmony between nature’s beauty and sophisticated luxury. Proud member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

1999 — Constance Lemuria, Seychelles

A celebration of nature’s splendour on Praslin, home to the archipelago’s only 18-hole championship golf course, and a sanctuary where the return of nesting turtles reminds us of the timeless rhythms of the natural world.

2006 — Constance Tsarabanjina, Madagascar

A far-flung tropical escape offering a true connection to Malagasy culture and breathtaking natural landscapes, where every moment exudes warmth and local charm.

2009 — Constance Halaveli, Maldives

With pristine beaches, gourmet dining, and serene indulgence at every turn, it is a hideaway where time slows and the magic of the Maldives unfolds.

2010 — Constance Ephelia, Seychelles

Set within a verdant embrace on Mahé, Constance Ephelia is a haven of holistic wellness and eco-conscious luxury. Overlooking the stunning natural beauty of Port Launay Marine National Park, it offers an escape where every moment connects guests to the harmony of nature.

2010 — Constance Moofushi, Maldives

In the heart of South Ari Atoll, Constance Moofushi is a diver’s paradise and a celebration of simplicity and barefoot luxury. With turquoise lagoons and powder-white beaches, this all-inclusive haven offers overwater villas, effortless indulgence, and an unforgettable escape above the sparkling Maldivian waters.

2024 — Constance Sakoa Boutik, Mauritius

A premier boutique retreat by Constance Hotels & Resorts, located in the north of Mauritius just steps from Trou aux Biches. Perfect for intimate escapes, this beachfront hotel offers understated luxury amid lush tropical surroundings, creating a dreamy island experience.

2024 — Constance Tekoma Rodrigues

"Here, we are never just visitors surrounded by nature's beauty.
We pause. We marvel. We connect.

And we carry it with us, returning home only to return again..."

At Constance Hotels & Resorts, hospitality is not a profession:
it’s a calling, a quiet rhythm that lives in every heart that serves.

It moves through a smile, a gesture, a connection that lingers long after you’ve gone.

Because this is where the heart stays,
where you’re never just a guest,
you’re part of our story.

You belong.

Our People

"Fifty years on, the heart of Constance remains unchanged.
We owe our success to our people and our guests. It is their smiles, their warmth, and their encounters that have shaped the very soul of our hotels.”
- Jean Jacques Vallet, CEO Constance Hospitality Management.

From the earliest days of our journey, Constance Hotels & Resorts' story has been shaped by people:
dedicated teams crafting living cocoons imbued with warmth, care and island spirit,
enjoyed by geusts from around the globe.

Today, that legacy continues to thrive, refining services and personalising experiences.

Offering true hospitality and an authenticity that remains at the heart of every guest’s journey.

Michael Scioli

Executive Chef, Constance Prince Maurice

“The key moment of our participation in the Bocuse d’Or 2022 was our return, when we received an absolutely incredible welcome from the group, the hotel staff, and even the guests. We were greeted with a guard of honor from the reception all the way to the cellar. It was truly impressive, and I will always cherish that unforgettable memory.”

Imelda Jorre de St Jorre

Central Reservation Manager, Constance Hospitality

“There is the understanding that we are here to produce results for the business, but at the same time to enjoy what we are doing. I’m grateful for my team.”

Jean Philippe Leong

Area Development Manager, Constance Hospitality

“What I love is that every project is different, and so is every destination. The interaction with the local community, their way of working and living, make each experience unique.”

Manjoola Dowlutrao

Executive Assistant Manager, Constance Belle Mare Plage

“No two days are alike in the hospitality industry, and the beauty is that we travel even though we stay here, because the world comes to us with different people.”

Sarath Rupasinghe

Senior Tailor - Housekeeping, Constance Halaveli

“I enjoy working with my hands and creating things that help the team. Stitching uniforms, tablecloths, and cushions may seem small, but I know they are part of what makes the resort look good and run smoothly. That makes me proud.”

Elva Volcere

Front Office Manager, Constance Lemuria

“I have a very strong and vibrant team. They go out of their way to make the guests happy, and for the job to be done. I’m very proud of them.”

Celebration Dinner

22nd November 2025 | Blue Penny Cellar

As part of Constance Hotels & Resorts’ golden jubilee celebrations, Michelin-starred Chef Michael Simon Reis returns to Mauritius to host an exclusive gastronomic evening at Constance Belle Mare Plage.

The celebrated German chef, best known for his creative mastery at Restaurant Johanns in Waldkirchen, brings his distinctive artistry to the island, a cuisine defined by precision, depth, and a reverence for the essence of each ingredient. Having first enchanted guests during the Constance Festival Culinaire, Chef Reis’s return is a heartfelt continuation of the bond between culinary excellence and the spirit of Constance.

This anniversary dinner promises more than a meal; it is a sensory journey that bridges continents, where German craftsmanship meets the rhythm of Mauritian terroir. A tribute to fifty years of passion, authenticity, and the timeless pursuit of perfection that defines the Constance experience.
