There are family holidays, and then there are the journeys that become part of a family’s story.

“This time, our kids genuinely loved the Coconut Tribe Kids Club and everything it offered — and for the first time ever, they actually stayed there. That was a real milestone for us.”
It meant the children could enjoy a little independence of their own, while their parents found time to linger beside the pool or retreat to the spa.

“Without a doubt, the tortoises at the Kids Club — paired with Mr Roberts’ wonderful explanations,” they recall. “The kids could feed them, ask questions, and they ended up stopping by every single day of our stay.”
Another favourite was a pizza-making class at the Coconut Tribe, kids club. Complete with miniature aprons and chef hats, it gave the children the chance to get involved rather than simply watch from the sidelines.
These are small experiences in the context of a family holiday, yet they are often the ones children remember most vividly: getting their hands messy, discovering something new and being given the freedom to explore.
The freedom to experience Seychelles together
Beyond the resort, Praslin’s natural beauty becomes part of the experience.
For a family of self-confessed “beach bums”, the variety surrounding Constance Lemuria was particularly special. Days could move between the resort’s main beach and the celebrated Anse Georgette, reached by shuttle and framed by the island’s distinctive tropical landscape.
There were fresh coconuts and smoothies from little beach bars, hours spent beside the water and quieter moments that became rituals of their own.
“My favourite was also the natural beach right by our suite,” they recall. “I went there every morning with my coffee to start the day listening to the sound of the ocean.”
It is this proximity to nature that gives a family stay at Constance Lemuria much of its character. Children have the freedom to discover, play and learn outdoors, while parents can experience the quieter side of island life.
And sometimes, the two come together beautifully.
One evening, the family headed up to the golf course for sunset drinks overlooking Anse Georgette.
“We had champagne, the kids had their mocktails, and we just sat there reminding ourselves how lucky and blessed we are.”
It was simple, unhurried and shared — exactly the kind of moment family travel is ultimately about.
Thoughtful details that make family travel feel effortless
Travelling with children often comes with its own practical rhythm, and sometimes the smallest details make the greatest difference.

At the Coconut Tribe Kids Club, children could come and go throughout the day, while wristbands allowed them to choose a smoothie, popcorn or popsicle for themselves.
It gave them something children often treasure on holiday: a little independence.
Even applying sunscreen became easier. A dedicated sunscreen station allowed the children to take responsibility for it themselves — a thoughtful touch that the parents particularly appreciated.

A table for the whole family
Food can be one of the great pleasures of travelling, but family dining requires flexibility.
At Constance Lemuria, different tastes did not mean different experiences.
Breakfast offered plenty of choice for everyone, while lunches by the beach could mean burgers and fries for the children alongside sushi for the adults. One particularly memorable dish was the children’s panda-shaped sushi, which encouraged the eldest to try something new.
Even an evening of more refined dining remained something the whole family could enjoy together.
“Even the gourmet restaurant prepared a dedicated dish for the little ones, so we could enjoy the Michelin-star-worthy cuisine while the kids had something just as delicious, made for them.”
Rather than parents having to choose between sophisticated dining and an experience that works for their children, there was room for both around the same table.
A family escape worth taking slowly
Perhaps the best measure of a family resort is not how much there is to do, but how naturally everyone settles into being there.
At Constance Lemuria, days can be filled with tortoise encounters, pizza making, swimming and trips to Anse Georgette, or left deliberately unplanned. Children can disappear happily into the Coconut Tribe Kids Club while parents retreat to the spa, before everyone comes back together for dinner or a Seychelles sunset.
