Installed across degraded areas of the house reef, the interconnected structures provide a stable foundation from which coral can grow and the ecosystem can begin to recover.
One hundred Reef Stars were planted as part of the project, while the resort team received specialist training to support the continuation of the work.
The value of restoration reaches beyond what Guests see while snorkelling or diving. Healthy reefs provide habitats for marine life, support biodiversity and contribute to the resilience of the islands themselves.
This relationship between experience and protection continues elsewhere in the collection. Regular lagoon clean-ups at Constance Halaveli help remove waste from the surrounding water, while reduced plastic use lowers the risk of further pollution. In Seychelles, Constance Lemuria’s Turtle Conservation Programme monitors nesting activity along Grande Anse Kerlan and protects vulnerable nesting areas.
