When /how did you learn about Constance Hotels and Resorts?
My husband and I have followed Constance’s social accounts for a while,
dreaming about and drooling over the pictures posted of Constance resorts.
Then I saw the #EverlastingMemories competition and entered each day with my fingers & toes crossed!
When I saw my name on the winner announcement article on the blog of Constance, I sat in front of my computer for ten full minutes rubbing my eyes and pinching myself before phoning my husband (then fiancé) and told him the news – we were both over the moon!
How was your journey to the hotel?
We had been looking forward to our trip for quite some time and so when the day came to leave,
we were both all smiles on our way to the airport.
The journey was long from London, but we forgot how tired we were when we were flying over the Indian ocean.
Spotting the first desert island, and then the next and when we touched down in Male and got off the plane, the tropical air hit us, and we realised how far we had travelled, and excitement took hold!
I had never been in a seaplane before,
so that was an incredible experience- taking off and landing in the water!
What are your overall impressions on Constance Halaveli Maldives?
The most incredible place I've ever visited.
Unlike most hotels, resorts and destinations, Constance Halaveli looks better in real life than it does in pictures and brochures. It's literally paradise.
If I could give Constance Halaveli 6* I would , as it really is above and beyond anything I've ever experienced!
In which villa did you stay? How did you find it?
We stayed in a water villa.
The villa itself is stunning and offers great privacy and access to the reef. The pool and sun deck area is idyllic- the perfect place to relax and think about nothing.
Was there anything specific that caught your attention?
Just the complete perfection and high attention to detail of everything, not even a pebble were out of place!
What are your opinions on the food quality at each hotel? Your favourite restaurant/s?
The food is fantastic, lots of choice and very talented chefs.
We mostly ate in the Jing Restaurant – we especially loved the 'Indian Ocean night' where we got to sample some of the dishes from the Maldives.
Did you try any wine? What do you think of the Wine Cellar at the hotel?
We didn’t drink much wine only a couple of glasses of prosecco.
We loved the cocktails on offer so drank quite a few of them!
Did you try any water activities? How did you find it/them?
The diving centre offers a wide variety of excursions and activities - we did the Whale Shark Excursion and Traditional Sunset fishing, both of which I'd recommend. Unfortunately, we didn’t see a Whale Shark on our excursion, so instead, we did some snorkelling and spotted a couple of turtles!
We then had lunch on a sandbank which was an amazing experience!
The traditional fishing was fun too; I especially liked being on the Dhoni - when the engine was switched off when all you can hear is the water splashing gently against the wooden sides, feel the rocking from side to side and see the sun setting in front of you – it’s completely idyllic.
All then interrupted by the sudden exciting tug of a fish on the end of your line, then the urgency of trying to haul it up before it escapes!
Which spa treatment/s did you try? How was it?
I had a facial and it was wonderful.
It’s nice to have a treatment with the sound of the sea lapping
against the wooden legs below the spa( spa on stilts).
The relaxation area which looks out across the sea was great too.
What did you enjoy best during your stay with us?
A very difficult question! So much to choose.
I just generally enjoyed the complete feeling of relaxation I got from being at Halaveli.
You can go at whatever pace you want, and your every desire is catered for.
How would you qualify Constance Halaveli Maldives as a hotel?
It’s the best and unique resort I’ve ever stayed in- if I could give it six stars I would.
Would you consider staying at Constance Halaveli Maldives again? Tell us why?
I would love to return to Constance Halaveli again one day. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d like to return and try some of the experiences I missed out on, and also try and find a Whale Shark again!
Constance Hotels and Resorts is a collection of seven hotels including Constance Halaveli Maldives. Which other hotels of the group would you like to visit?
I would like to visit one of the Seychelles resorts and the Madagascar resort at some point!
What did you enjoyed the most?
It was an evening stroll after the dinner.
We strolled barefoot through the little forest in the middle of the island; the sandy white path lit up by lanterns dotted along the sides in the leafy undergrowth like something from a fairy tale.
The sound of palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze and the odd chirp of some exotic bird nearby.
The path met the beach, and the canopy opened up to reveal a sky full of stars and glistening black ocean,
the tiny waves caressing the silvery white sand.
