Peter Baker Triumphs in a Thrilling Play-Off at Contance Belle Mare Plage – 2024 Edition

Peter Baker secured a dramatic victory at the 2024 MCB Tour Championship in Mauritius at Constance Belle Mare Plage, defeating Simon Griffiths in a nail-biting play-off. 

Both players finished tied at 16 under after a thrilling finale to the 2024 Legends Tour season. Baker clinched the win on the third extra hole with a stunning up-and-down from a bunker.

While Baker successfully retained his title, Brazilian Adilson da Silva claimed the coveted John Jacobs Trophy. Simon Griffiths earned the Barry Lane Rookie of the Year award after an impressive performance.

Competition rules

  • The competition is an individual Stableford event over 36 holes.
  • Men (white tees): play will be in two categories: handicap index 10.4 and below, handicap index 10.5 and above with a playing/course handicap limit of 18.
  • Seniors of 60 years and above may play from the yellow tees and their playing/course handicap will be adjusted to the (WHS) course rating.
  • Ladies (red tees): Handicap Index (WHS) applies. Playing/course handicap maximum of 20.
  • Prizes will be presented to the leading 3 competitors gross & net in each category.
  • A competitor may only win one prize (gross taking preference).
  • The decisions of the Tournament Committee are final.
