Why excitement is the first step of your dream wedding

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Our dream wedding competition winner Regina Dering is a master in visually defining the excitement felt at the beginning stages of planning a wedding. After all, her Pinterest page is what won her the ultimate prize of a Constance Lémuria wedding in the first place – a journey we’ll be documenting until she ties the knot with her partner in April next year.

Wedding planning can be an emotional time, so for all Constance wedding coordinators, it’s imperative to get the details just right. Sometimes its the small things that make all the difference, like an aisle made from coconut shells, a rejuvenating pre-wedding massage, a bouquet of tropical blooms or the chance to incorporate authentic Seselwa (Seychelles Creole) traditions into the ceremony.

But why have we named ‘excitement’ as the first of our eight steps to a perfect wedding, and why is it important?

Anticipation is good for you

Planning a wedding allows us to fill our minds with a host of lovely things that don’t generally make it into our everyday routine: everything from scenic locations and glamorous venues to dresses, flowers, cakes, décor and Champagne.

Tripadvisor reviewer Seygee praised the ‘flower decked palm arches, pedestals with flowers and elegant flowers and candles on the dinner tables’, while Mitchurchin from London spoke of the ‘beautiful areas where the ceremony could be held, offering both privacy and some stunning picture opportunities.’ Another member loraine89 from Dubai described her daughter’s wedding at Ephélia as ‘The most wonderful day. We could not fault anything. We were looked after from our very early morning arrival till we left. The wedding day was just amazing’.

Of course, the best way to just enjoy the excitement of it all is to know that someone else is taking care of all the stress and practicalities, which is why our wedding planners are so highly regarded. Tripadvisor user Paul R agrees: ‘From the stunning natural beauty of Halaveli Island, the luxurious creature comforts of Constance and the happiest and smiliest staff on earth, we had the most perfect wedding and honeymoon. Our wedding planner Shermaine planned the most beautiful and perfect wedding day for us and we thank her very much for it. It is the most romantic setting to say I do and we are so happy we married on Halaveli Island!’

And finally, we’ve no doubt Regina – who’ll be saying ‘I do’ at Constance Lémuria – will be pleased to read the words of Tripadvisor contributor Linda S, who had this to say about her own Lémuria wedding: ‘We wanted to find a truly special place to get married and spend our honeymoon and Lémuria did not disappoint. From the moment we were driven through the gates, we knew it was going to be paradise. The tropical surroundings, the beautiful wildlife and the phenomenal welcome really confirmed this was going to be the experience of a lifetime.’
