The finale to the European Senior Tour season, the MCB Tour Championship, will remain at Constance Belle Plage in Mauritius until at least 2017 following a new three year agreement between the Senior Tour, the host venue and title sponsor Mauritius Commercial Bank.
The extension to the existing four year term means the winner of the John Jacobs Trophy will now be confirmed in Mauritius for the next four seasons, taking the Senior Tour up to the end of its 26th campaign.
Many of the pioneering champions, whose ambitions in the last three decades of the 20th century led to the creation of The European Tour, are now enthusiastically developing the European Senior Tour with equal success. Included in that number are several past Ryder Cup players, Major Champions and countless winners on The European Tour.
From a starting point of only one significant over 50s event - the PGA Seniors Championship - the European Senior Tour now comprises a schedule of 16 tournaments throughout Europe and beyond, as the boundaries of the game continue to be reshaped.
OUR GOLF COURSES
The two Constance Hotels & Resorts championship golf courses in Mauritius are of international competition standard. Each 18-hole golf course is a challenge for professional and amateur golfers alike, recognised by the PGA and golf federations all over the world. These courses were conceived to annually host a number of international competitions including the MCB Open, transformed into the prestigious end-of-season MCB Tour Championship.
